Is Sümela Monastery currently open?+

Fully reopened in July 2020 after the 2015-2019 restoration. Some upper sections remain under restoration through 2024-2026. Hours: April-October ~09:00-19:00, winter 09:00-16:00. Müzekart accepted.

How do I get to Uzungöl from Trabzon?+

100 km via Of and Çaykara, 1.5-2 hours by car. Minibuses leave the main bus station through the day. Day tours from ₺500-1,200/person.

Alternatives to crowded Uzungöl?+

Demirkapı Highland above Uzungöl (2,300 m), Sultanmurat Highland (1,900 m, pine forests) 20 km away, or Şerah and Haldizen highlands for walking.
